Our Mission & Journey

Pink and White Star Y2k Style Personal B

QSTAR is an organization based in Indianapolis, focused on  creating safe spaces for queer youth in the performing arts community to find guidance, mentorship and support through their endeavors. Whether through online messaging via the website or social media, or in-person events organized with local theatre groups. QSTAR was founded by Parker Taylor, a young trans performer in Indy. He struggled in his youth to find his place and comfortability in the performing arts scene while dealing with a gender transition and lack of mentors who understood that journey. He is eternally grateful for all of the love and support he received from the community around him, but nonetheless, he felt like he was drowning trying to grasp his gender identity and how to perform authentically before he could begin hormone replacement therapy. He always wished there was someone there who knew what it was like and could offer some guidance, so he created QSTAR to do just that! He cannot wait to see where this organization goes and how many people QStar can help with its resources and access to mentorship and aid!
